Ntongwe sector administration has said residents in the sector located in Ruhango district will have access to piped water early September 2014.
Residents use dirty water from swamps during the dry season which puts their health at risk of catching diseases.
“We are trying to speed up the process so that residents get clean water in September,” said Bertin Ngendahayo, executive secretary of Ntongwe sector.
“Clean water will help us part with diseases related to dirty water from swamps,” revealed Josee Uwamariya, a resident.
Apart from individuals, Ntongwe sector has many infrastructures like health centres, schools, factories which need clean water for use.
Ntongwe is one of 9 sectors that make up Ruhango district.
